Berlin-Adlershof

Berlin Adlershof, which lies in the south-east of the city, is part of the district Treptow-Köpenick and has been described as being the ‘green lungs’ of Berlin– it’s the greenest, most water rich suburb in the city. An intriguing mix of old and new architecture, it has a fascinating history and is a hot spot for property investment because of its technology, start up status and growing working community, meaning there’s no shortage of people seeking quality accommodation in the area.

Adlershof is divided by a high railway embankment. On one side lies the modern, futuristic city for science, economy and media (WISTA). On the other side, to the north-east, one will find the old town center with housing, schools, churches, a small market place, a cinema, as well as many shops and restaurants along the Dörpfeldstraße. The Humboldt University in Berlin also has several establishments here.

As part of the overall strategy to keep Berlin diverse and affordable, new housing developments in Adlershof are varied; from luxury condos to multi-generational housing and even co-operative housing. It’s a progressive neighbourhood with plenty of character, offering pleasant, green and well-connected living in the east of Berlin.
