Berlin Westend is located in the affluent and elegant district of Charlottenburg. In 1866, the areas surrounding Charlottenburg palace were developed into a residential locality for the Berlin bourgeoisie, and as a result it was named ‘Westend’ after the similarly affluent area of London. It was originally planned to be the city’s artists’ colony, with the intention to build only traditional style villas, ensuring ample living space for the wealthy and established residents to roam around in.

Since then the Westend has retained its popularity and it is not only the elegantly designed buildings and subsequent luxury properties which have guaranteed this. With easy access to Lietzensee Lake and its large surrounding park, there are multiple places to relax in the Westend. There are also plenty of walking paths around the lake’s shore, with numerous benches to rest on to allow some time to take in the beautiful scenery. The small cafés surrounding the lake, as well as the trendy beer garden situated on the water, are all great spots to unwind and enjoy the views over the lake and the beautiful Westend. Everyday needs can also easily be met in the Westend with supermarkets, shops, chemists, doctors and so on along Reichsstrasse. Living in the Westend also means easy access to the City-West and also to the popular Grunewald forest and Havelsee Lake, both loved for the multitude of outdoor and relaxation opportunities they offer.
