Location

In 1866, the areas surrounding Charlottenburg palace were developed into a residential neighborhood for the Berlin bourgeoisie, and as a result it was named ‘Westend’ after the similarly affluent area of London. It was originally planned to be the city’s artists’ colony, with the intention to build only traditional style villas, ensuring ample living space for the wealthy, established residents to roam around in. Today, Berlin Westend still has a reputation of being one of the best neighbourhoods to live in.
